Council have an unexpected opportunity to consider upgrading the Goodwood Road shopping strip.

Under grounding of power lines is planned soon for Goodwood Road. Mindful of the disruption that will be the price the businesses on Goodwood Road pay for this initiative Council are looking at the streetscape.

Rejuvenating Goodwood Road although identified in our urban design framework was not something that was in our long term financial plan. We are reviewing whether to consider doing this now rather than cause disruption again in the future when we do proceed with a much needed upgrade.

This is a logical approach; take advantage of the disruption to give back to this community a streetscape that will take Goodwood Road into the future.
